We’d love to have you join our Theatresports™ Community!
Theatresports™ is registered as a trademark and has been copyrighted. This means that, similar to main-stage productions such as “Les Misérables”, you need to have permission to use the format.
Keith Johnstone, creator of the improvisational shows Theatresports™, Maestro Theatre™, and Gorilla Theatre™, founded The International Theatresports™ Institute (ITI) in 1998 to manage the international rights to these show formats. If you wish to perform them, you need to obtain permission in the form of a performance rights agreement from the ITI.

Please note we require a one-time, non-refundable $50.00 CAD administration fee (groups in Canada need to include $2.50 GST). We accept VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, PayPal and bank EFT. Contact us if you would like specifics on how to make each type of payment.
Once we receive the application and fee, we will begin processing your application. Your application is given to the Selection Committee. This Committee is made up of players, directors and administrators of improvisation companies. This process generally takes between two and three weeks, but sometimes can take longer. Generally you should apply at least two months before your first planned performance of the format.
Once your application is accepted, we will then walk you through the contract process.
